Unleashing Adventure: The Importance of Camps in Personal and Leadership Development

Our grade 11 camp was a magnificent journey that helped us further develop our leadership skills. We delved deeply into what it meant to be a leader and the different types of leadership that existed. During our camp everyone got a chance to show off their leadership and learn what kind of leader they truly are.

The days spent on camp were filled with laughter, determination and moments of introspection as we journeyed through multiple team building exercises and discussions. We learnt communications skills and how vital it was to listen to multiple opinions voiced by your group teammates as that was the only way to successfully do the tasks presented to us. We truly became closer on this camp not only from the activities but talking and spending the free moments to converse with one another and bond.

Although not everyone may have enjoyed some of the tasks given to us like waking up at 5:30 in the morning to go do an obstacle course and swim through mud, there were certainly moments that we all did enjoy. This camp was truly an adventure for us all and will undoubtedly be something we will all reminisce of when we are older and wish we could do it one more time.

Our grade 11 camp was surely a transformative journey that will resonate with us for a long time.
