Partnership
St Peter’s Girls School has set up a Community Partnership programme with Musenga Vhadzimu in Diepsloot and Sefikeng School situated in the grounds of Leeukop Prison.
Both schools cater for children from Grade 0 – Grade 7. The children are predominately from squatter camps or from surrounding areas.
Some of the challenges facing the schools include:
· Overcrowding
Lack of facilities and equipment
Poor maintenance
· Social problems
· Poverty
· HIV/Aids ( which has resulted in many orphans, child-headed families etc)
· Learners with barriers to learning
A certain percentage of the profit from all PA events is donated to the programme.
St Peter's School and the PA committee identify the needs of each school before projects are approved. The staff, parents and pupils involve themselves in seeing each project through to fruition.
