Percussion Ensemble

This group consists of pupils who take percussion or drums as an individual instrument.  The children in this group have to audition at the beginning of the year.  The percussion group plays a variety of instruments and styles.  African music is played on the African Marimbas and also includes various shakers and drums.  Military Marches are played in the Drum Line. The Drum Line is an integral part of the percussion ensemble as it develops the basic techniques on all other percussion instruments.   Rehearsals include classical ensemble pieces and body percussion such as sticks and gumboots.
